Can anyone please explain to me why Sal Barbier was the first skater with a pro model shoe? (I could be wrong about this. Cab may have had one before him. Wait, I just looked it up. First one was for Natas Kaupus by etnies in 87. Cab had a shoe the following year. The Barbier shoe came out in 1993.) Either way, why was there a "23" stitched in it? Did Barbier think he was Michael Jordan or something? I think they should've given' Hensley the shoe deal. I've hardly ever seen any Barbier footage.
PS: they reissued this shoe in some new revamped model. http://etniesskate.com/blog/2008/04/30/the-sal-23-is-back/

New York Fall Footage
Skating in the North East in the fall is the best. There is no better place on earth then New England in the fall. Serious. Secondly, there are few places that look as cool on film as New York, or East Coast cities for that matter. I'm not really sure what video this is from but it's pretty cool. Skating to the Kinks makes any video look good. Kinda like Dinosaur Jr., or Think Lizzy (Note: Not really, I don't like Thin Lizzy).
ron chapman
this is a world industries vid called
rubbish heap.
1989? 1990? not sure.
look at the beast of a board he is
shredding on. take note of the curb jam
body varial. i first thought this was jordans
old part when i saw it.
jeremy klein uno
this is from transworlds video uno 1995
i think its real funny that the last trick in his
skate part is a rollerblade trick. just as long
as your getting xtreme right?
The Gerwer Baby
This is Frank Gerwer's part from the Six Newell video. Peter Ramondetta and Nate Jones have some cool parts in it as well.
I fucking hate the world
To welcome John Trani to this blog, I'd like to post Elissa Steamer's classic part from Jump Off A Building. Hi, John!
Chris Cole - In Bloom
Now, you know, for some reason, I always wanted to dislike Transworld skate vids, but from the time I bought Uno, I've never really had anything bad to say. I've always thought everything that Transworld does is good, but they've always seemed to lack the flavor that Thrasher or Slap has, even though Thrasher seems to put out crap as far as skate vids go. What I'm really trying to say is that Chris Cole is awesome.
Robert Lim - Love Affair
Jordan posted Jimmy Mcdonald a little while back so it reminded me of this part, another 5Boro rider.
Penny was there...
Yeah, somebody had to do it and that somebody is me. Thirty seconds of pure perfection.
Mike Anderson
Probably my favorite am right now. Plus he skate to Devo. Only rad skateboard videos use Devo. I'm trying to find videos that people haven't seen, but it's fucking difficult so lay off. This dude skates for Krooked.

Andrew Allen
How do you top that last video? I'm not even about to try. When are you guys going to take a skate trip out to Austin? Andrew Allen from one of those new shitty 411s.
Kid kickflips the moon!
Dream on space mountain!
This is just a vid of me doing
XX treme moves. its all jordans
fault that the kids in farmington
continue to make movies.
hopefully well get some of jordans
old public access channel parts
on here soon. note the appearance
berger makes on the last trick at the
bottom of the stairs.
The Coolest Name Ever
Seriously, if you think that every trick ever has been done, then this part should prove you wrong. The backside 270 kf to lip on the curb is my fav, but the bigspin hurricane is pretty cool too. Ocean Howell from H-Street's Next Generation. He still skates and there was an interview in Slap about a year or so ago that talked about him going to school for a Ph.D in urban planning or some shit. Rad.
Frodo In The Shier, Paul Shier That Is...
Paul Shier is the only man who can make the low-lying kickflip look cool. In addition, his bs nosegrind 180's are so quick they look like super smooth nose bonks. Like him or hate him, he definitely has his own way of skating. This part is from Lost and Found by Blueprint. It was released somewhere around a couple years ago. Nick Jensen and Danny Brady of Fully Flared fame have parts in this vid as well.

FUN FACT of the day
last year chis berger(of this site) went on
a deck killing spree. he broke about 2-3 decks a week
during spring/summer. i saw him break brand new
boards on flat ground kickflips, tre flips, everything.
all he had to do was look at a board and it would break.
ive seen him break the nose on a gap and then turn it
around and break the tail next try. we couldnt even film
runs or ledge tricks without a couple back up boards.
hes not a big dude either. lock your boards up if chris
comes to ur neighborhood.
BERG RIPS
caswell berry
this part is pretty neat and so is this video. i still have it on vhs
tilt mode man down
rumor has it this man gets gnarly.
fun fact- jordan once followed weezer on every
stop of their US tour as a groupie.
Spivey-Man
The quality is terrible, but the skating is good. This guy is from Bmore so I thought I'd post him. Damn it all, it looks like this video is filmed on a cell phone. Whatever, Spivey is good.
The Man Who Sold The World Industries Flameboy Logo
I have yet to see the documentary about Steve Rocco, aptly entitled The Man Who Souled The World, but I found these files on another blog of lesser greatness. Now, I'm gonna watch it. Anywho, I posted the links to the files on Sendspace so you wouldn't have to sign up to any weird sites. Fun Fact: Rapidshare is a pain in the ass. Just paste the link and be sure to download each part, sucka. Each part is about 100mb and decompressed it equals about 5g.

Louie
How could you not like Louie Barletta? He's always been a personal favorite of mine. This Tiltmode video was a breath of fresh air when it came out during a sea of dramatic slow-mo to techno video parts. Oh wait, this is the Maple video. Fuck it- someone put up something from the Tiltmode soon. Remember that fakie airwalk on the Slap cover?
Freddy
I was looking for Fred Gall's part in Thrasher's new video, but I came across this and what a pleasant surprise, eh? The nollie noseslide on the hubba at city hall in Philly is super tight. My guess is that this is from one of the Eastern Exposure vids. At the very least it was filmed by Dan Wolfe back in the mid '90's.
Dude in Japan
I don't care if you already saw this on Crailtap. It belongs on Skate Video Shit! The editing is kinda weird and it reminds me of the opening montage to Modus Operandi or something, but I guess that's cool. Why can't everywhere in America have little rails sticking out of the ground?

Ryan Johnson
i first saw this guy in a 411 europe 99 vid in the opening section
he does a pop shove it tail grab bigspin out of the bowl at
marsaille.this is some earlier stuff(consolidated?)
check out europe 99 or some of his new deal ads.
i dont know what hes doing now.
fun fact-he is why jordan learned pop shove it tail grab
shove its off the fun box.
Nick Dompierre
I know this was just put up on The Skateboard Mag site, but holy shit is he good. Real knows how to pick 'em.
jerry hsu 411 #20
jerrys wheels of fortune.some real OG stuff. his part in maples
"black cat" is also worth a look.
danny gonzalez the reason
part from a transworld video. check the switch 360 flip foot plant.
remember chapman skateboards?
muska toy machine
chad muskas welcome to hell part. he got in an argument with the tempster and quit the night of the premiere (or so it goes)
so this part wasnt in welcome to hell and came out as a bonus feature on the welcome
to hell DVD. the bigspin boardslide really jumps out to me as a shocker from the muska.
fun fact 1- allen met muska in california said "whats up muska" and asked where
some spots were
fun fact 2-berger sweat muska so hard in 6th grade almost as much as me
(probably more) he owned his es pro model shoe.
Josh Hawkins - some 411
Arizona ripper, unique trick selection, unique spots. I get a kick out of that smith grind 180 through the posts everytime. I think you'll enjoy this and if you do, check out John Motta
5boro serves McDonalds
I know you have probably already seen this part, but it deserves to be looked at again. The song is totally rad. This part is from a promo back in 2008 5boro released to showcase Jimmy McDonald. I looked at some of his earlier parts, but this one is the cat's pajamas, in my humble opinion. I'm really at a blank for what to post next.

Davis Torgerson - Boondoggle
Here's a little part from young Real and Nike am Davis Torgerson. Minnesota local kid, local video. Kills stairs, rails, ledges, big gaps, and even a few unique spots in between, all with a nice style. Youtube quality sucks so I'll post the quicktime link as well.
http://dlxsf.com/catalogs/fall08/rs/interviews/davis/vid.html
stefan janoski subtleties
hmm lets review modest mouse (check) stefan(check). well thats all you need for a great part. look at the first run he does nollie 180 to switch fs crook 180 out?
(check) huge switch shifty(check) switch kf bs 50-50(check) this man makes it all look too easy.and this part really makes you feel good.
Brian Wenning photosynthesis
this part always stuck out to me the most out the the habitat section in photosynthesis.probably because i went to the brooklyn banks set he switch 360
flips at the end and was like wow i know jordan couldn't do that. i give it 5 minutes before jordan posts dills part from this video and from feedback.....
start the clock. .... now.
Geoff Rowley&Arto Saari feedback
Transworld feedback is such as great video. Epic. Its one of those vids with so many good parts it makes you want to shred for miles.Everyone always talks about muska's part from this vid and yes its great but there are so many other notable parts. for instance rowley and artos part that you see here. look how tender these boys are here and still doing tricks jordan dreams of.funny feedback fact #1-i used to roll up wind pants like muska in 6th grade and carry a radio
Boudreau B-Day
That's right, you heard it here first! Michael Boudreau of Skate Video Shit fame had a birthday yesterday. January 25th! He just turned 11. Good job Mike! Michael is also known as one of the founders of the Hippie Crew and is a reformed Buffalo Soldier or Warrior or some shit like that. Michael is currently at home drinking a Gatorade. This is your year, Mike! Fun fact: Boudreau tightens his trucks so much that he can't even turn.
BA with TM
The line where he does the back smith and the front nose is my fav. One of the best back smiths in the game. Brian Anderson, Jump Off A Building by Toy Machine somewhere around 1998 or some shit. Dinosaur Jr. will be always be in skate videos.

Fiskers
Yeah, that's right, I posted this bullshit. Let it be known that I tried to find his part from Coliseum's Boston Massacre, but I'm stupid so I couldn't find it. I found this shit though, so you better watch it. From what I can understand, it might be kinda recent. Colin Fiske has got some creative stuff. I'll probably take this post down tomorrow though so you better watch it right now. This is what Skate Video Shit is all about. SVS4ever!
Drehobl's Chicken Cow
Wesley Willis anyone? RIP. Who knew Drehobl could switch ollie a road gap? I did. I love Thrasher videos because everyone else hates them.
A Bunch of Hippies
This video part is rad. There is a really great Huf part somewhere on YouTube from the same video. Quim Cardona with the heelflip body varial at Petaluma. That park is strange. There is so much graffiti on the transitions that you will slip down in on your new vulcanized gum soles, sucka. Bring those 99A's and you're be slammin' all over the place. Anywho, these hippie kill it and shit. Kicked Out of Everywhere by Real, somewhere in the early 2000's, I think? Maybe it was filmed toward the end of the century. You don't care anyways.
jason adams label kills
when this vid came out adams really blew you away with the first part in this vid. very creative and american. gooo america. (do you like it how i tell you that this part has to blow you away? sorry no opinions allowed here. . .) take specific not of the manual wallie 180 out. makes it look easy.

Marc Johnson and David Bowie
1997. What a wonderful year. This was back in the day when shoe sponsors got all the throw away footage. This is actually my favorite Marc Johnson part partially because he skates to this weird song off of Space Oddity. Weird song to skate to, right? Emerica's Yellow had some other really great moments like a Dan Drehobl/Phil Shao shared part and a young Tim O'Connor where he skates to "A Town Called Malice." There are about a million people in this video who are still around so don't be surprised if you see more of Yellow soon. I have to stop posting so much shit on this stupid blog.
All Systems Go!
I tried to find Dorian Tucker's part from Pig's All Systems Go! because he skates to Love, but alas, all I could find was Satva Leung and Pat Channita. I choose Satva. Check out the friggin 5-0 to front nose. Don't blink or you'll miss it!
The Street Rake
I tried to go kinda underground on this one, and Pat Rakestraw is one of my favorites underdogs, so why not? Faith Skateshop out of Alabama put this out a few year back, and I don't really get the whole Christian vibe thingy, but Rakestraw's part is radical. Song is good, tricks are creative (as always with the Street Rake), and the slams are a plenty. Maybe it's God's little way of saying, "Pat, you earned that tailslide. Kudos."
He also came out with a part for Black Label not too long afterwards, which is nothing to shake a stick at. Reason to Believe, somewhere in the 2000's.
Marc Johnson modus operandi
this part was amazing when it came out and still is.marc johnson rips and so does built to spill. who would have thought when this part came out marc johnson would progress so much further than this part. this man is a master. also note mike carrolls part in this vid for some reason it really stuck out to me even though i havent watched this vhs in 6 years. long story short this is the part to watch.
Jon West
I couldn't find his part from Art Bars, (sorry, Jordan) but this is also very enjoyable. handrails in the rain, sweet jane.
Greg Hunt
This clip is from Tincan Folklore by Stereo Skateboards. The whole aesthetic of this video is pretty great (just skip over Mike Frazier's part to avoid being jarred). This video has always been underrated next to A Visual Sound, but its been one of my favorites for whatever reason. Greg is now making skate videos. In fact, he's making Alien Workshop's Mind Field which should be out next month.
John Cardiel
This part (Anti-Hero's Cash Money Vagrant) should be required viewing to anyone new to skateboarding. Actually, any John Cardiel part should be. VBS.tv's epicly later'd did an amazing series on him just a little while ago that everyone should check out. Killer, bro.
Van Wastell
At the time, I hadn't seen too much of Van Wastell besides some magazine ads here and there. But when this online part came out, I was blown away. Such casual style. Its a shame he isn't around anymore. RIP, Van.
Quit Sinnin'
Lenny Kirk's part from Alien Workshop's Timecode. Everything about this part gets me excited. The wind-up toy intro, the weird Christian preaching, the children's chorus... what the fuck. Amazing. And to top it off, he skates fast as shit. Grinding a hubba, then dropping to another hubba? Wow. Now go hit your head really hard, and accept Jesus Christ as your savior.
Brad Staba You In The Face
I remember seeing a review of this Foundation video way back in the day and it talked about the fact that there are about 1000 handrail clips in this 20 minute video. Brad Staba, Jon West, and Daniel Haney. There are a few really nice kickflips in this part too. Take note of the ollie-up-to-super-fast-head-high-kickflip. Duty Now For The Future. Look for a possible Jon West video part soon. Maybe Allen will post it, but probably not.
East Coast Powerhouse
Since this is my first post to this blog, ever, I figured I'd post the first skate part I've seen. From Toy Machine's Welcome to Hell, Mike Maldonado. Jump over stuff, not down it.
Nate Jones Shoots You in Your Brain
Tyler really wants me to post this video part. It was his idea to post Kenny Reed too. One of the best 360 flips in the biz. Best back tail, too.
The Traveler
His part in Static 2 is rad, but enough from Mr. Stewart for now (sorry everyone, maybe next week). This part is from 7 Year Glitch and it came out right before New Deal went out of business. This is the first part I can remember that had a substantial amount Barcelona footage. That's right, it was before every company decided that it was cool to skate banks again. I'm gonna go ahead and say it came out in 2002, but I'm too lazy to google it for the facts right now.
Your Wonderful Horrible Life
I know everyone knows this part and it seems cliche to post it, but c'mon, it's fun. Plus he skates to Pulp. In fact, the whole Coliseum video seems like a weird brit pop tribute doesn't it? Colin Fiske's part is rad, and Ryan Gallant is super smooth. Now that I think about it, why don't I just post that shit, too? Maybe I will.
Fowler Wears Leopard Print
When this part came out the only thing I had seen of Ethan Fowler was a sequence of him doing a backside noseblunt on a ledge in a Foundation ad. I was all like, "yo, whatevs" until I saw the opening line from this part. I don't care how many stairs you can back lip, you'll never make it look as good as Fowler.
Check out the rest of nervous breakdown if you ever want to see a super young Omar Salazar or a full part from Brad Staba. If you're looking for Jon West, I advise you check out Art Bars. Ditto for Shimizu. I'll probably post more from this video in the near future. If you find a set of leopard print vans, let me know!
Nate Broussard
I know that this page is starting to look like a tribute to Static and Josh Stewart, but I don't care. This is in my top 5 best parts from 2008. This came out in 2008, right? Street gap to nose manual anyone? There is another song in this part (T.Rex), but I was too lazy to find it.
Bobby Puleo
This is one of my favorite parts of all time. What say you? The Kinks are awesome. Anywho, I just saw a interview with Josh Stewart on the Slap website where he talks about making the part and filming with Puleo. It sounds intense, check it out.
Jake Johnson
This is not his new Mind Field part, but if you don't know who this guy is, then get super duper excited because I think his new part is gonna be even better then this one.
Hey,
I plan on posting a bunch of new and old skateboard video parts on this page. Maybe even a review? Maybe my friend Allen can help me when he's sitting at his desk in Texas doing nothing? Now I'm off to find a couple video parts I like and link them or post them or do whatever it is that these internets do nowadays. Maybe if you have a good link, let me know, or don't.
